Thala Ajith wins six medals as part of Chennai Rifle Club in the shooting championship


Ajith is not only a versatile actor and a superstar, but also a keen sportsperson who has actively participated in several racing competitions and won medals. Testimony to the fact is his recent win at the 46 th Tamilnadu State Shooting Championship Competition. Thala won six medals as part of Chennai Rifle Club that he represented at the event.
A source in the know informs us, “Ajith has often been spotted outside the Rifle Club in Chennai and pictures and videos of him practising rifle shooting have gone viral in the last few days. The actor had actually participated in the Tamilnadu State Shooting Championship Competition, held between March 2 and March 7. He represented Chennai Rifle Club, along with Siddharth Sivakumar, A Jagannathan, Sumeet Harkisondas Sanghavi, Vijay Kumar, Varun Madhu and S Sudhakar, at various events.”

Ajith and his team won gold in Air Pistol 10mts (ISSF). The source adds, “They also won gold in Center Fire Pistol .32 (NR) 25mts, Standard Pistol .22 (ISSF) 25mts and Free Pistol .22 (NR) 50mts. The team won silver in Center Fire Pistol .32 (ISSF) 25mts and Standard Pistol .22 (NR) 25mts.”

About 900 shooters from across the state participated in the event. Rajsekar Pandian (secretary, Chennai Rifle Club), DVS Rao (secretary-general of National Rifle Assn.), Tamilselvan DGP, Ravikrishnan (secretary, TN Shooting Assn) and Gopinath (joint secretary, Chennai Rifle Club) gave away the medals to winners.
